Interview with Executive Director Alisha Nelson
OneOhio Recovery Foundation Executive Director Alisha Nelson recently stopped by the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune offices for an interview with the paper's editors and reporters. You can read the full interview here.
"The new executive director of OneOhio is no stranger to the recovery movement or to state government working to develop ways to help families with loved ones suffering from addiction.
Alisha Nelson worked with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine when he was the state's attorney general and then joined his administration after he became governor in 2017, after a stint as an executive in the health care industry.
Nelson, who is from Akron, holds a bachelor's degree in strategic communication and a master’s degree in business administration. She is married with identical twin girls and a boy. She attended The Ohio State University and Dominican University.
She started her career at the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County before joining DeWine's team in Columbus and was part of the team that made the decision to sue drug companies and drug manufacturers for the damage caused by the opioid epidemic.
She developed the Recovery Ohio initiative with DeWine after he became governor and as executive director of OneOhio she will oversee the distribution of approximately $864 million in proceeds from the lawsuits to communities across the state."
