Executive Director Update
As we continue to drive our mission forward, I want to share some exciting progress we're making to bring grant dollars into your communities!
We’re now beginning to award grants that support innovative, evidence-based projects and programming across Ohio. These grants will help serve a wide range of people and needs, making a real difference – and saving lives.
For the first time ever, the Foundation Board has started to approve grant proposals, and our dedicated staff is working diligently to finalize the grant agreements.
These are just the first of many approvals, and as grant agreements are finalized, we’ll be sharing more details about the awarded projects on a rolling basis.
The response to our first grant application process has been overwhelming. For the $51 million available this cycle, we received funding requests exceeding half a billion dollars.
While we won’t be able to fund all of these great ideas in 2024, we’re committed to this fight for the long haul, and this is just the first of many opportunities to come.
Thank you so much for your continued partnership. We look forward to sharing exciting grant updates soon!
-Alisha Nelson, Executive Director – OneOhio Recovery Foundation
Grant Process Update
OneOhio’s first-ever grant application review and recommendation process is well underway across the state. As of August 22, nine regions have submitted funding recommendations for final approval by the Grant Oversight Committee and Board of Directors. Review and continued application consideration is well underway in the remaining 10 regions.
The chart below will be updated on a regular basis to help illustrate where each of the 19 OneOhio Regions stand in making their recommendations to the Expert Panel, Grant Oversight Committee and Board of Directors.
As grant awards are approved by the Board, OneOhio staff will work to finalize grant agreements and release details about final grant awards on a rolling basis.
Share Your Feedback
OneOhio is thrilled to begin announcing our first grants to support regional projects, but funding is just one very important piece of the Foundation’s broader mission. OneOhio is also charged with promoting and advocating for the health and safety of Ohioans by supporting and implementing evidence-based programs and services needed to combat the opioid epidemic and prevent its recurrence. As we develop our first comprehensive strategic plan, we’re asking for your input. We hope you’ll take a moment to share your thoughts with our team as we work to make a positive impact across the state.
