Board-certified in General and Addiction Psychiatry with 16 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, Wilder currently serves as Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience and as Medical Director of the Addiction Sciences Division, University of Cincinnati Academic Health System. In these roles, her work focuses on the treatment of parent-infant dyads with opioid use disorder, and she has more than 50 peer-reviewed research publications, including articles on opioid overdose prevention, treatment disparities in pregnant people with substance use disorders, and treatment retention for pregnant and post-partum people with opioid use disorder. Wilder was also involved in the development and national implementation of the Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution program in the Veterans Health Administration and is active in the Cincinnati community as a member of the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.
Wilder sees her service on the Foundation’s Expert Panel as an opportunity to continue her commitment to improving treatment and reducing stigma for those with substance use disorders. Since moving to southwest Ohio 10 years ago, she says she’s “seen a huge change in people’s attitudes toward addiction, along with a massive increase in the availability of help for individuals with opioid use disorder. This makes me optimistic for the future!”
