March 12, 2025 - OPIOID SETTLEMENT FUND BOARD HOLDS PUBLIC MEETING
Directors of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization charged with helping distribute Ohio’s opioid settlement funds to advance substance-use prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts, held their March board meeting Wednesday, March 12, at the State Library of Ohio in Columbus.
As the Foundation prepares for its next grant cycle, Board Chair Don Mason emphasized the importance of leveraging lessons learned from the inaugural funding round to drive effective substance-use prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts statewide.
“Our first funding cycle established a strong, transparent process that ensures funds are directed to organizations best positioned to create real change across Ohio—and we’re already seeing those dollars making a difference in our communities,” Mason said. “Looking ahead, we are committed to streamlining our approach by incorporating feedback from partners across the state. Transparency, collaboration, and responsible stewardship remain at the core of our mission, ensuring every dollar contributes to building a healthier, stronger Ohio.”
To start the meeting, Chair Mason recognized Daphne Ayers, who was recently appointed to represent Region 19 on the Board of Directors. Ayers is an experienced clinician with a demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and fitness industry. Additionally, with more than 20 years in active recovery, Ayers understands the challenges posed by the opioid epidemic and is looking forward to using her experience to help amplify OneOhio’s message and mission.
The board then voted to approve minutes from the February meeting and the January and February unaudited financial report. Following those votes, the Board entered an executive session for legal and strategic discussions.
The next public meeting of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation Board of Directors will be announced at a later date.
